Arlington, Va. – Today, the Aerospace Industries Association’s (AIA) American Rocketry Challenge (ARC), the world’s largest student rocketry competition, unveiled an exciting new partnership with Club for the Future, the nonprofit founded by Blue Origin, to develop the next generation of space explorers.
Through a co‑branded Postcards to Space initiative, ARC and Club for the Future will expand opportunities for students to connect, create, and see their ideas launched aboard a future Blue Origin New Shepard mission. As part of Launchpad League, ARC teams will have the unique opportunity to design co-branded ARC/Club postcards, blending creativity with aerospace innovation. This hands-on experience reinforces key STEAM skills, encouraging problem-solving, and design-thinking.
“The American Rocketry Challenge and Club for the Future share a commitment to igniting curiosity, fueling innovation, and inspiring tomorrow’s STEAM leaders—making this partnership a perfect fit,” said Eric Fanning, AIA President and CEO. “Together, we will give students a chance to dream big and watch their creativity soar aboard Blue Origin’s New Shepard rocket.”
“Our partnership with the American Rocketry Challenge opens new pathways for students to engage with STEAM and real aerospace innovation,” said Heather Nelson, director of Club for the Future at Blue Origin. “Through our Postcards to Space program, students will see their ideas fly on a New Shepard mission and return as a reminder that their creativity has no limits.”
Club for the Future has engaged millions of students across the globe through space‑focused lessons, events, and ambassador programs.
Since its founding in 2002, ARC has engaged more than 100,000 middle and high school students in designing, building, testing, and launching model rockets. Through this yearlong program, students turn classroom concepts into hands-on aerospace experience, gaining practical skills and confidence along the way. ARC not only builds technical capability, but also fuels teamwork, creativity, and a sustained interest in pursuing careers in science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM).

About American Rocketry Challenge
Since 2002, the American Rocketry Challenge, the world’s largest student rocket competition, has engaged more than 100,000 middle and high school students in model rocketry. The annual challenge invites students to design, build, and fly rockets to exacting requirements and gain hands-on experience solving engineering problems. Sponsored by Aerospace Industries Association, the National Association of Rocketry, and more than 15 industry, government, and academia partners, the American Rocketry Challenge is the aerospace and defense industry’s flagship program designed to encourage students to pursue study and careers in STEAM. The program has launched countless careers in aerospace and defense, and its alumni are helping to engineer the vehicles that will take us back to the moon, and, one day, to Mars.
